Personally, I haven't always connected to orange cake. There are flavors that are acquired over the years and slowly become connected to flavors that we used to be less connected to. This is exactly my story with orange cake. This is the first orange cake I've made and it didn't disappoint!
So have a classic orange cake for the weekend, when hosting or when you're a guest.
Easy and simple to prepare!
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/3 cup coconut sugar (any other sugar can be used)
1/4 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
1 and 1/2 cups sifted spelt flour
3/4 bag of baking powder
A teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
After baking:
1/2 to 3/4 cup orange juice
Powdered sugar (optional).
Preparation method:
In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the oil, sugar, vanilla extract, and orange juice until a uniform batter is obtained.
Add the flour and chocolate chips and beat just until the flour is incorporated.
Transfer the batter to a greased English cake pan and decorate with chocolate chips.
Bake the cake in a preheated oven for about 35 minutes at 180 degrees.
After baking, pour 1/2 to 3/4 cup of orange juice over the cake to make it juicy.
If desired, sprinkle powdered sugar on top, refrigerate and serve.
